I have loved animals for as long as I can remember. I grew up riding horses and as a child, the main love of my life was my wheaten terrier, Dara. My passion for animal photography grew out of my love for my animals; when my dad bought me my first DSLR camera at 14, they naturally became my main subjects.
I rediscovered my love of photography when I brought home my second beautiful windsprite puppy, Naoise (pronounced Nee-sha). I began grabbing my camera to capture all the sweet interactions between him and his older brother, Fintra. As he got older, I started photographing the two of them on our hikes and adventures, attempting to capture their adventurous, inquisitive spirits.
From there, I began photographing friend’s dogs as well and loved seeing a different side of them through the lens, capturing a majestic moment as a dog stares off across the horizon and then the goofiness when they turn to the camera, stick their tongue out and zoom off. It has let me get to know the dogs in my life in a deeper way.
In my photography, I aim to celebrate what makes each animal unique and to capture their unique personality. I want to capture photos that make your heart fill with love when you look at them, because they catch the essence of your beloved pet. Wild Paws comes from the concept that being out in nature can really draw out the personality of your pet, and my photos will never be overly staged or manicured. Just them, as they are.
I look forward to meeting you and your dog soon!
Hi, I’m Siobhan!
